Björkliden is situated in an area which is a part of Sápmi, a traditional region where the Sami people live and have been living for generations. A large part of their traditions and livelihood stems from reindeer, and you’ll learn how they herd, tend and use reindeer of during this exciting visit to a Sami village.

Björkliden is situated in an area which is a part of Sápmi, a traditional region where the Sami people live and have been living for generations. A large part of their traditions and livelihood stems from reindeer, and you’ll learn how they herd, tend and use reindeer of during this exciting visit to a Sami village. During the activity you will learn about Sami history and their lives today, and even have the chance to feed and be close to reindeer! It will also be possible to ride behind them in a sled. We will go to a traditional lavvu, a type of Sami tent, where they will serve traditional food in front of an open fire. This activity is perfect for the entire family or group of friends. No physical fitness is required but warm clothes are recommended.
