Att packa f\u00f6r de arktiska fj\u00e4llen \u00e4r en konst i att f\u00f6rbereda sig f\u00f6r fyra \u00e5rstider under en och samma dag.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nN\u00e4r jag \u00f6ppnade min ryggs\u00e4ck s\u00e5g jag till att skalkl\u00e4derna l\u00e5g \u00f6verst \u2013 min sk\u00f6ld mot de pl\u00f6tsliga fj\u00e4llvindarna och de piskande skurarna som kan rulla in \u00f6ver topparna p\u00e5 bara n\u00e5gra minuter. Trots att solen sken just d\u00e5, visste jag att kalfj\u00e4llet och naturen h\u00e4r uppe inte tar n\u00e5gon h\u00e4nsyn. L\u00e4ngre ner i s\u00e4cken hade jag packat m\u00f6ssa och ett par rej\u00e4la vantar; uppe p\u00e5 h\u00f6jderna mot M\u00e5ndalen kan det arktiska draget vara iskallt.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nSedan kom det absolut viktigaste f\u00f6r mina f\u00f6tter: extra strumpor i en vattent\u00e4t p\u00e5se. Ett par torra ullstrumpor kan f\u00f6rvandla en tung dag till ren njutning om man r\u00e5kar trampa snett i en myr.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nJag packade ocks\u00e5 ner en tom vattenflaska \u2013 fj\u00e4llb\u00e4ckarna h\u00e4r \u00e4r ju fyllda med ett av v\u00e4rldens renaste vatten, s\u00e5 jag fyllde p\u00e5 l\u00e4ngs v\u00e4gen. F\u00f6r energin hade jag laddat med rej\u00e4la portioner torrmat och energirik snacks, och l\u00e4ngst ner l\u00e5g termosen med kokkaffet. Den d\u00e4r varma klunken kaffe p\u00e5 en bl\u00e5sig plat\u00e5 \u00e4r inte bara energi \u2013 det \u00e4r ren sj\u00e4lsfrid.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nSlutligen, i sidofacket, vilade min viktigaste trygghet. Mobilen \u00e4r bra, men i skuggan av bergen d\u00f6r batteriet snabbt i kylan och t\u00e4ckningen f\u00f6rsvinner. D\u00e4rf\u00f6r hade jag med mig en fysisk fj\u00e4llkarta och en armbandskompass. Jag vandrade upp\u00e5t i den dramatiska dalg\u00e5ngen mellan Nuolja och Gohpas\u010dorru och stannade till f\u00f6r att besk\u00e5da vattenfallen l\u00e4ngs med stigningen. Men ju h\u00f6gre upp jag kom, desto tydligare blev ljudet. Ett dovt, mullrande d\u00e5n som v\u00e4xte f\u00f6r varje steg. Det var extremt mycket sm\u00e4ltvatten i omlopp, och de sena sn\u00f6f\u00e4lten uppe p\u00e5 topparna matade dalen med enorma m\u00e4ngder vatten.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nSnart s\u00e5g jag den lilla renvaktarhyddan l\u00e4ngre fram, men precis innan jag n\u00e5dde den tv\u00e4rstannade jag. Den bron som \u00e4r utm\u00e4rkt p\u00e5 kartan och som brukade ta vandrare s\u00e4kert \u00f6ver jokken var borta \u2013 helt bortsliten av naturens enorma krafter. Det fanns inget annat val \u00e4n att f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka korsa jokken p\u00e5 egen hand.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nFramf\u00f6r mig \u00f6ppnade sig nu ett gigantiskt, brett delta d\u00e4r Gohpasjohka hade sv\u00e4mmat \u00f6ver alla sina breddar. Vattnet hade f\u00f6rgrenat sig i minst sju eller \u00e5tta str\u00f6mmar, bankar och d\u00e5nande forsar. Det var magiskt vackert, men ocks\u00e5 djupt respektinjagande. Jag ins\u00e5g snabbt och direkt att jag inte kunde g\u00e5 rakt \u00f6ver. d\u00e4r terr\u00e4ngen smalnade av. Stigen tycktes forts\u00e4tta p\u00e5 andra sidan, men det som nyss verkade lovande var en skummande, vild jokk. Det iskalla vattnet kastade sig runt de vassa stenarna l\u00e4ngs med ytan och str\u00f6mmen var rykande h\u00e5rd.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nJag stannade till. Hj\u00e4rtat slog lite snabbare. Jag s\u00e5g att det gick att ta sig halvv\u00e4gs ut p\u00e5 n\u00e5gra glatta stenar, men det sista steget kr\u00e4vde ett hopp \u00f6ver en djup r\u00e4nna d\u00e4r vattnet forsar som mest. <br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nD\u00e5 mindes jag fj\u00e4llets viktigaste regel: Det finns ingen skam i att v\u00e4nda om. Naturen best\u00e4mmer alltid.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nEtt felsteg h\u00e4r hade inneburit eventuellt att dras med i det iskalla sm\u00e4ltvattnet. Jag hade redan g\u00e5tt kilometervis l\u00e4ngs deltat och Gohpasjohka, och kroppen b\u00f6rjade bli tr\u00f6tt. Jag tog ett djupt andetag och backade tv\u00e5 steg. S\u00e5dant \u00e4r livet p\u00e5 fj\u00e4llet, och det \u00e4r bara att acceptera!<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nI st\u00e4llet f\u00f6r att riskera n\u00e5got slog jag upp mitt t\u00e4lt precis d\u00e4r vid deltat. Och j\u00f6sses, vilket beslut det var.
