Björkliden 100 years
One hundred years of mountain experiences
In 1926, the Gammelgården inn and two annex buildings began to be used as a mountain facility in Björkliden for tourism. But Björkliden station was built as early as 1902 with the construction of the ore railway between Kiruna and Narvik. Since then, this place has offered experiences, competitions and community in many forms. One thing is certain - Björkliden is and has been loved by many, and many share the feeling that there is something special about Björkliden that can't really be put into words. It's like the soul has simply found a home here.
Now we are celebrating 100 years of experiences and for at least another 100 years.

Fika package in the lobby for SEK 100 - cake, homemade bun and drink.
Litter picking with pin reward - ask at the reception and get plastic bags and gloves, when you hand in the bag you will receive a pin as a thank you for protecting and taking care of nature.

Centenary activities and specific events
June 8th - Cleaning day with the Abisko school at the resort.
July 4 - Litter picking day with lectures, litter picking, after-cleanup with music, refreshments and light food.
July 31st - Barbecue evening at Rakkaskåtan with troubadour.
August 28th - Barbecue evening at Rakkaskåtan with troubadour.
September 12th - Tasting menu with northern inspiration in Restaurant Lapporten.
October 4 - Cinnamon bun day. We bake homemade cinnamon buns and enjoy the fall weather.
November 7th - The day of the sponge cake.
Mid-November (exact date to come) - Northern Lights vigil with lanterns.
December (exact dates to come)- Christmas buffet, live music and dancing in Björkliden.
December 31st - New Year's Eve and New Year's dinner.
