Hiking package to Trollsjön
Explore Trollsjön on your own—a self-guided mountain hike through the magnificent Geargevággi valley to one of Sweden’s clearest lakes. Transportation, a map, and a route description are included. The hike is approximately 12 km long with a 350-meter elevation gain.

Hiking Package to Trollsjön (Geargejávri)
We offer a hiking package that includes transportation to the majestic Geargevággi valley, where one of Sweden’s most sought-after hidden gems awaits at its very heart: Trollsjön, or Geargejávri as it is known in the Sami language.
Geargevággi means ”Stone Valley,” and there’s an obvious reason for that. It is one of the most mysterious and beautiful places the Swedish mountains have to offer, and the landscape easily brings to mind *The Lord of the Rings*. A unique area known for its magnificent rock formations shaped by the last ice age. The destination of the excursion, Geargejávri, lies deep within the valley and is known for its clear water and incredible visibility. On a clear day, you can see all 36 meters all the way to the bottom!
We’ll drop you off at the Låktatjåkka parking lot, where the hike to Geargejávri begins. You’ll receive a map and a route description so you can make your way on your own to the lake at the end of the valley. Once you arrive at the lake, it’s a great time for a lunch break. After the hike back to the parking lot, when your legs are tired and your packed lunch is finished, we’ll pick you up again.

Meeting place: Outside the Sports Shop in Björkliden
Number of participants: 2-8 people. If there are less than two registered participants, we reserve the right to cancel the tour
Price: 460 SEK per person
Included: Map, compass, tour description and transportation to and from the starting point of the tour
Packing list: Packed lunch, water bottle, hot drink, sturdy boots (preferably with shafts that go above the ankle), rain jacket, rain pants, a warm jacket or extra-thick sweater, hat, gloves, buff or scarf, sunglasses, sunscreen, cap/sun hat, seat pad, first aid kit + personal medication
Other: The recommended age for this tour is at least 10 years for children walking on their own
ATTENTION! Geargejávri (Troll Lake) is naturally sterile, so you should Do not swim in it to maintain its natural pH balance.

Hiking package to Lake Geargejávri (Trollsjön)
This valley, carved out by the last ice age more than 10,000 years ago, is one of the most mysterious and beautiful places Arctic Sweden has to offer. At the end of the valley lies Lake Geargejávri, one of the clearest lakes in Europe. Its crystal-clear, icy water lies beneath the steep faces of granite cliffs, offering a stunning view.
This package includes transportation to and from the trailhead, a map, a compass, and information about the area and the best trails. The adventure begins with a short drive to the trailhead. When we arrive at the parking lot, we’ll show you the beginning of the trail before leaving you to continue on your own adventure up to the lake. When you return to the starting point after your hike, we’ll be waiting for you by the car to take you back home to Björkliden.

What to bring: Lunch, water bottle, hot drink, hiking boots (preferably a style that covers your ankles), rain jacket, rain pants, a warm jacket or thick sweater, beanie, gloves, scarf, sunglasses, cap or sun hat, and a first aid kit + your own medication
Other: We recommend that children are over 10 years old for this tour
Note! Geargejávri (Troll Lake) is naturally sterile, therefore swimming in the lake is not an option to maintain the natural pH balance.

About Activities
Good to know
Each activity has a level of difficulty described below. We always adapt the pace to the group to ensure everyone has a great experience.
Relaxing: this is not exhausting at all, on the contrary!
Slow pace: Can be compared to a light walk. As a participant, you can often adapt the effort to your own level.
Moderate: This level of exertion requires a little more from you as a participant. At this level, it is more often a matter of endurance rather than great physical effort, but we recommend a normal level of fitness.
Demanding: This level often requires both willpower and higher physical fitness. We recommend that you talk to our knowledgeable staff in the sports shop if you are unsure.
Quite a challenge: This level requires a lot from you as a participant. You should be both strong and confident behind the brow bone - at this level we will always ensure your suitability before completing the activity.
Depending on the activity, breaks may or may not be included, but we can always make sure to take a break if you need to.
Once booked, the activity will be entered into our system and you will receive a confirmation of your booking. The booking confirmation will give you more information.
On our guided activities we have no specific cancellation protection, but all activities that are canceled 29 days from the date of the activity's implementation give a full refund, up to 24h before implementation, 10% refund is given. Within 24h or in case of no-show, no refund will be given unless otherwise stated as payment is binding for example for specific courses.
