While the vast landscapes in the mountains are fascinating for visitors to Björkliden, our dark and narrow caves offer a wholly different, titillating and sensuous experience which is just as unique.
Cave adventure

Participants: Minimum 3, maximum 8 persons.
Included: Guide, overall, helmet, headlamp, rubber boots, gloves, snacks.
Difficulty: Intermediate/advanced 12 km hike.

Cave adventure
The Kåppasjokk Caves offer an exciting and extraordinary experience. In the caves, we discover the shaping power of water, the formations of the cave, and life underground. The tour begins with a 2.5 km hike through the birch forest from the hotel to the caves. As you walk through the birch forest, the guide will provide information about the surrounding nature and what you see.
Upon reaching the cave, we equip ourselves with protective overalls, helmets, and headlamps before venturing underground. There are two parts of the cave system, and despite entrances that are only twenty meters apart, they are notably distinct in their structure.
As we move through the cave, we walk upright, partly bent, and for the more adventurous, there are passages where crawling is an option. Along the way, we pass underground streams and magnificent halls adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. If possible, we descend into both cave passages, and between descents, we enjoy some refreshments by the stream.
This is an adventure for those with good physical fitness and a sense of exploration. The recommended minimum age is 8 years.
