Information: This tour is held in English. The majority of Lights Over Lapland’s guides are from other European countries and they also host many international guests, which is why all their guided tours are held in English. The minimum age is 7 years old.
ABISKO AUTUMN HIKE
You start your hike together with the guide, who leads you through this magnificent nature. The red-yellow birches shine brightly against the snow-covered mountain peaks, and the fresh air fills your lungs with energy.
The guide points out Lapporten, the famous U-shaped valley, and explains how it functions as a symbolic gateway to Lapland. It’s one of the most iconic views in the area, and especially beautiful on clear autumn days.
As you continue the hike, the guide explains how the Abisko mountains were formed over time, and you’ll pass small streams with clean, clear water that you can even drink directly. You’ll also stop on several occasions to enjoy the view and take pictures.
The guide will remind you of the importance of carrying enough water, dressing in layers so you can adapt to the weather that can change quickly, and always leaving nature just as you found it.
