The lake Rissajaure (Northern Sami: Rissájávri) roughly translates to “the lake that shimmers like fire.” However, many know it better as Trollsjön (the Troll Lake), and it’s one of the country’s most popular destinations! In 2019, when SJ (Swedish Railways) passengers voted for their most desired domestic travel destination, Rissájávri actually clinched first place. Now, it might be your turn to experience this gem?

Hiking package to Rissajaure (Trollsjön)
We offer a hiking package with transfer to the mighty valley Gearggevággi, where one of Sweden’s most sought-after hidden gems awaits at its very end: Trollsjön, or Rissájávri as it’s called in Northern Sami.
The valley is also known as Stendalen (the Stone Valley), and there’s an obvious reason for this. It’s one of the most mystical and beautiful places the Swedish mountains have to offer. A unique area known for its magnificent stone formations shaped by the last ice age. The excursion’s destination, Rissájávri, is located deep inside the valley and is renowned for its clear water and incredible visibility. On a beautiful day, you can see a full 36 meters all the way to the bottom!
We will drop you off at Låkta anhalt along road E10, where the hike towards Trollsjön begins. You’ll receive a map and a tour description to make your way to the lake at the end of the valley on your own. Once you arrive at the lake, it’s a good time for a lunch break. When your legs are tired and your packed lunch is eaten, we will pick you up again at 3:30 (15:30) PM at the parking lot.
